Olympus
Olympus is the highest mountain (2917m.) of Greece and consists the sign of synchronous European civilization. This mount, is common around the world, as at the top of it (Mitikas), the ancient Greek positioned the residence of their twelve “Olympian” gods.
Dion
South of the city of Katerini (almost 15km.) and only 5km. from the coast of Katerini, is the ancient site Dion. The ancient Dion was the holy town of Macedonians and was named by Zeus, the father of Olympian gods.
Castle of Platamonas
At the roots of Olympus, in the road which integrates Macedonia and Thessaly, onto a hill next to sea, is the Castle of Platamonas, built beneath 6th-10th century, one of the most impressive and important mediaeval castles of Greek space.
Elatohori
Just 40min from the Dion Hotel is Elatohori. With its own ski resort and situated at Mount Olympus, the mountain that housed the ancient gods of Greece.
Meteora
One of the largest and most important complexes of Eastern Orthodox monasteries in Greece. The six monasteries are built on natural sandstone rock pillars. |
